CSSC T-Shirt Competition

Posted in Uncategorized on April 28th, 2011 by PresidentRaph – Comments Off

As some of you may know we at CSSC like to organise some awesome shirts to sell to our members. Last year we held a competition where anybody could submit a design for what would be printed on the shirts and we’ve decided to do it again! YAAAAAAAAY

There will be further details soon about how to submit and the voting process but for now get those brains working and start thinking about the kind of design you would like to see plastered across literally 10s of people’s chests. Just think, it could even be YOURS!

CSSC @ RFLAN

Posted in Uncategorized on March 20th, 2011 by crazyoldman [Your Humble Webmaster] – Comments Off

My fellow citizens,

The club is organizing a team for the quad-annual RFLAN. This has become a regular event for many clubroom members, and this year, we’re reaching out for more members to join our team.

In previous years, we’ve come successively closer and closer to winning the team theme competition, coming out at second at the most recent LAN. This time, we’re hoping to win, and we need your help to do it! We’ll be deciding on a theme for our team early on, so that we have time to prepare in advance. We’ll be having a meeting shortly to decide on possible theme candidates (for example, last LAN, we were exceptionally Christmas themed).

Along with the theme, there is, of course, the LAN aspect. Every LAN, our team has been running:

  • A Minecraft server
  • Mechwarrior 4 games
  • Starcraft II (and I!) – We’ve been pretty consistent in winning these competitions
  • Everything else you can think of
  • If you want to have an awesome day gaming away (and legally sharing those Linux isos), and be fashionably themed whilst doing so, please don’t hesitate to send me an email at webmaster@cssc.asn.au, or ask me, our Treasurer (Ed), our President (Raph), or anyone else in the clubroom. Alternatively, you can leave a message on our official forum thread!

Please note that there is a fee for attending the LAN, and we wish to get our group booking in promptly, along with designing our theme. So, please register your interest quickly. Thanks!

For more information on dates, pricing, and other such things, please see the forum thread. Also included there are pictures from previous LANs!

Ladies and gentlemen, congratulations to everybody who was elected to a position in the 2011 committee!

As your returning webmaster, my first order of business is to fix up our humble committee page . If you’re on the committee, I’ll be needing your photograph to complete this page. Please see me at some point in time at the clubroom to have your photo taken, or email me your picture. Thanks.

    End of semester soccer

Posted in Uncategorized on October 16th, 2010 by James Hales – Comments Off

The end of semester is approaching, so we’re holding another staff vs. students soccer match and free barbecue. Come down to Riley oval at 11am on Friday the 29th of October and play a friendly game of soccer, followed by free drinks and sausages.

Students play in red shirts, staff in white shirts. Please make sure you’re wearing shorts and sports shoes if you plan to play, we don’t want any injuries caused by poor choice of footwear. We’ll have a few spare red shirts lying around if you forget on the day, but they’re mostly XXL or XS shirts left over from our last shirt order, so it’s definitely best to bring your own.

If you don’t feel like playing, come down to watch, cheer and have free barbecue.

    Quiz night

It’s time for another quiz night. This year it’s on Tuesday October 5, at 7:30pm in the Tav. Tickets are $10 per person or $70 for a table of 8. You can buy tickets in the clubroom on next Monday or Tuesday, or at the door on the night.

Hope to see you all there.

    UWA Open Day volunteers needed

Posted in Uncategorized on July 20th, 2010 by James Hales – Comments Off

This year, Open Day is on Sunday 15th August from 10.00am to 4.00pm and we were wondering if anyone in the club would be free to come along and interact with visitors to the school?

This is done on a volunteer basis, but to compensate those who attend will get a T shirt and a lunch voucher.

We do need to know numbers for such purposes, so if anyone from the club is interested, please could you let Bec know ASAP! She also needs your t-shirt size.
